My name is Bridget Bragg. I moved to the Columbia, SC, area almost a decade ago. I was born and raised in West Virginia and then moved to Ohio, Colorado, and Minnesota. Immediately upon moving to Columbia, I knew that this was home and I never wanted to move again. The people are amazing, the weather is fantastic, and the fire ants are (usually!) ignored.

I never planned to grow up and become a natural childbirth enthusiast. I think that somewhere along the way it snuck up on me. The wisdom of my grandmothers, aunts and other relatives trickled down and I started to realize there was another way to handle this birthing idea. Just like there have been other ways to parent and raise my children. It merely required a willingness to think outside of the box that many of us have been placed.

My family consists of six wonderful children who I would be amiss if I didn't refer to them as blessings. Sure, they still spill juice on the floor or see if the can get just five more minutes before bedtime, yet they are still amazing creations that still take my breath away. Each of these children came from my womb and each has taught me a lesson that has helped me to grow. That is something that many women are not told about giving birth; it's not just about becoming a mom and having a child, it's also a process that can't be described adequately with words.

Perhaps that is why I'm so passionate about women having the birth that they desire for themselves and their baby. After many years of considering it, I decided to become certified to teach HypnoBirthing® classes. I firmly believe in this method and knew I had to be a part of this some day. Every baby deserves to be born in a calm, gentle, and safe way.

My birth experiences have varied from my first birth being a very managed one to the joy of experiencing a pain-free birth. But this isn't about my births, it is about yours. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you.
